I was on a flight, one of many in my past life as a young early-twenty- something IT consultant, zooming from one job destination or another on my journey back home. On the way to Frankfurt airport I remember and I remember well how exhausted I was at that moment. I remember sitting still and focusing on my breath before the flight was settled for departure, eyes closed, learning to relax. The seat next to me was empty but a gentleman in his 40’s or 50’s was talking to a stewardess asking to relocate for reasons I again cannot remember. He asked if he may take the free seat next to mine and I said yes and continued to do my practice.

After awhile when I opened my eyes again he asked me if I was alright. I said yes, just very tired. He said, well you could try and meditate, it helps. I beamed, oh, that was what I was attempting I said. I was a practitioner at the time, self-taught from books and using what I knew. Turns out he was a meditation teacher. We had an amiable chat about his life traveling around teaching others holistic health practices and he asked me if he might see my hand as one of his skills was in palm reading. Intrigued I offered this kind travel companion my palm. One of the first things he said and truly the only thing I remember was, ‘you have the hands of a healer - did you know that you can heal?’. Trust me dear reader when I tell you that at that time I had no idea I could heal anyone else let alone myself. He continued to explain what he saw and I’m sure we spoke more about these things though I cannot recall it now.

Today I am so grateful for this serendipitous moment, and I want to say thank you to him and the currents that be that form our lives and our moments, for that moment and that meeting. When we landed, he respectfully offered to buy me a tea while I waited in transit for my next plane. His kindness helped me travel better through that weary state I was in and we had a lovely tea talk about this and that. Honestly, I cannot remember more about this kind soul and teacher, or what we spoke about. I cannot remember his face, or the content of the conversations we must have had. All I remember is his kindness and the feeling of receiving his message: a glimpse of what I was meant for, of what I could become.

What synchronous and serendipitious moments in your life come back to you now as being past messages guiding you towards who you really are, what you are meant for?
