Time

Do you think about time? When we think about time perhaps what we think about is actually how we feel about time and not about time itself. When we are stressed for time we are only in a state of resistance to what is here and now. The stress is the contrast between where we are and where we wish to be. Mostly in relation to time!

How DO we relate to time?

That we have time, that we are out of time, that times are good, that times are tough, running out, that time is given, taken, that time is needed, that time heals, that there is no time like the present, that this is the wrong time, that time is unlimited, or short, that we lose our sense of time, time and again, that this time will be the time of our lives and we have all the time in the world, world without end. We give of our time, we live on borrowed time or are doing time, then we find ourselves in perfect timing. We fall into the divine timing and when the time is right…

TIME OUT!

How many of our expressions on time are about time? Haha, yes I saw that last one just as I wrote it. Is it not about time that we realise we do not think about time, we feel it. Time is a feeling. And like all other concepts or constructs that we have created to understand life, it is in the perspective and subjective experience that we live through Time. As a feeling time is not a constant, and it is not even linear. From an awareness and also spiritual theory point of view, we can go back in time, we can imagine future times and we can exist in the same time in parallel realities.

A year ago I had a plan. For many reasons that plan changed in depth and breadth beyond anything I could have imagined or foreseen. During that time I received these guiding words ‘drop the timeline’. It was a strong message, clear words, a distinct feeling that it was my key to the coming time. Since then I have been actively practicing dropping the timeline, everywhere and anywhere I can. This has given me an even deeper sense of freedom and spontaneity in life than I knew possible. I am exploring the meaning of divine timing and being intuitively open to what that is, putting aside my own agenda to listen, feel and allow the perfect timing to unfold. I am taking this even further by experimenting and deconstructing my ideas about time and inviting new and until now unknown ways of relating to the day, week, month, hour, minute, moment and seeing my plans and goals through a timeless lens.

Can we live successfully without timelines?

What times suit you best and is there a time for everything?

Is the way you feel about time supportive to the life you live or would want to live? Knowing that time and how you relate to it is subjective, changeable, loose and in your power to expand or contract, how would you like to perceive time now? Would you like to have a freer sense of time than what you have today?

I find daily spiritual practice is a wonderful way to develop skills to bend time to serve your well-being.

On this same subject, I have written about Spontaneity.

Hope you enjoy all the many definitions of time from the Merriam Webster dictionary below…Take your time ;-D.
